Failure to Pay Costs or Fines that the Board Imposes
If a occupation's or profession's board imposes fines or costs on a licensee, he or she must pay them immediately or at the time the board's order becomes final. If the licensee does not pay the fines within 60 days after the order becomes final, the order becomes a judgment against the licensee. This means that the order can be executed in the same way as a judgment executed in a court of common pleas. In addition to the costs, a board may collect attorney's fees and interest that accrues until the owed amount is paid. S.C. Code Ann. Sec. 40-1-180.
