Possible Fines for Violations by Architects

Architects who violate the South Carolina statute relating to the their profession, or regulations under that statute, may face a fine of up to $2,000 for each violation. However, the total fines imposed on one architect may not exceed $10,000.

Importantly, the board's final order that an architect is guilty of an offense will become public knowledge. A final order dismissing an accusation or imposing a private reprimand is not public information.
S.C. Code Section 40-3-120.
